Capturing stories and journeys with
automotive Photography
I don’t shoot cars in the traditional way — no pictures that look like high-gloss renderings or CGI creations. My background in photojournalism means I approach vehicles as part of something bigger: a setting, a journey, a story. Great automotive photography isn’t just about the machine — it’s about where it takes us, what it represents, and the moments that unfold around it. Whether it’s a road trip, a test track, or a working vehicle in its element, I aim to show the human connection to movement, place, and design.
Hibernot Campaign for Land Rover
Land Rover identified Range Rover drivers are passionate about top-quality food experiences; this creates a tangible experience, enabling the consumer to make the most of winter as only Land Rover can. The campaign delivers on an extraordinary winter experience.
Stills were captured alongside a set of films featuring AA’s Chef of The Year 2016, Simon Rogan. The collaboration with the two-Michelin-starred chef sees invited guests enjoy a three-course meal at a unique, drive-through restaurant on the South Downs. The campaign themed Winter is Served, ends with the challenge: “Hibernate? No chance. #Hibernot.”
Back to the quiet rituals of looking — a camera in hand, the road ahead, and time to let things unfold. Road-tripping in a Land Rover with a partially functioning immobiliser and three children, we crisscrossed the French and Spanish border, from Santander to Canfranc.
What emerged was a fragmented story — a melancholy ode to the off-season, somewhere between beach time and ski time.
Personal projects for me rarely involve people — maybe it’s a way of stepping away from the prescribed requirements of both editorial deadlines and commercial lifestyle briefs. Blurry pictures, dark frames, miserable muted colours… I suppose they say something about how I see when no one’s looking.
Not a beautiful model in sight — just a few pigeons scratting around, and a blurry surfer.
Hasta la vista. I'll be Basque.
