Sagres to Comporta
Road Trip Photography – Sagres to Comporta, Portugal: A Journey Through Quiet Moments
Reportage – Sagres to Comporta, Portugal
The road winds along Portugal’s western coast, often overlooked in favour of the Souths bustling beach towns, but here I am—behind the wheel of a VW camper, family in tow, chasing the coast with a late start. A work commitment had delayed my arrival, a small reminder of the joys and chaos of being self-employed.
Deserted beaches where the tide barely touches the sand, empty roads where the only company is the occasional passing camper with surfboards. The texture of little flowers on the cliff rocks, the dust settled on an old, sun-faded sign, the contrast of the wind against the stillness of the empty beaches. It’s the quiet moments that matter, the ones that escape the hurried gaze.
From Sagres to Comporta, the journey unfolds at its own pace—The empty roads and deserted beaches feel more like invitations to slow down, to breathe in the stillness before the world returns.
There’s no rush. Late to the holiday, sure—but in no real hurry to leave. It’s the kind of journey that invites reflection, the kind that reminds you that the destination is just another part of the story.
